MINUTES OF THE BYRON SHIRE COUNCIL Extraordinary Meeting HELD ON Thursday, 9 May 2019 COMMENCING AT 5:05PM AND CONCLUDING AT 5:20PM

PRESENT:   Cr M Lyon (Deputy Mayor), Cr C Coorey, Cr J Hackett, Cr A Hunter, Cr J Martin,

Cr S Ndiaye and Cr P Spooner

The Deputy Mayor opened the meeting and acknowledged that the meeting is being held on Arakwal Country and that we pay our respects to the elders past and present and extend our respect to the Bundjalung clans whose lands and waters are part of the Shire.

Resolved that the apologies from Cr Richardson and Cr Cameron be accepted and a leave of absence granted.                                                                                                            (Lyon/Hunter)

The motion was put to the vote and declared carried.

Staff Reports - Corporate and Community Services

 

Report No. 4.1             Draft 2019-2020 Operational Plan and Budget for public exhibition

Resolved that Council:

1.       Endorses the draft Operational Plan 2019/20 (Attachment 1, E2019/31932) for public exhibition for a period of 28 days

 

2.       Endorses the Draft 2019/20 Statement of Revenue Policy comprising detailed Budget           Estimates (Attachment 2, E2019/31865), Rates and Charges and Borrowings           (Attachment 3, E2019/31857) and Fees and Charges (Attachment 4, E2019/31385) for a           period of 28 days:

 

a)      Include the $5,000 required for additional library staffing

 

3.       Request that staff bring back a report outlining possible ways to fund both the Climate  Change Adaptation Implementation  Plan currently listed at $80,000 and the Lighthouse Road / Clarkes Beach / Midden Protection Stormwater Diversion - Design (Res 18/322)

The motion was put to the vote and declared carried.

Cr Hunter voted against the motion.
