Cr M Lyon (Chair) opened the meeting at 2:05 pm and acknowledged that the meeting was being held on Bundjalung Country.

Adoption of Minutes from Previous Meetings

 

Committee Recommendation:

That the minutes of the Coastal Estuary Catchment Panel Meeting held on 4 May 2017 be confirmed.

Report No. 4.1             Discussion Items relating to Coastal Estuary Catchment Panel

Item discussed:  Effluent Flow Paths

Committee Recommendation:

1.         That the Coastal Estuary Catchment Panel note the items listed for discussion.

2.         That in the relation to the ‘Capacity Assessment of the Belongil Creek Drainage System’, the report be updated within the Executive Summary, Sections 8.3 and 11 to include finding on the performance of the two options against the current flow path for the current flow scenario of 3 ML /day, in addition to 5 and 8 ML/ day.

 

3.         That a sentence be added to the Recommendations of Executive Summary to make it abundantly clear that option 2 is the addition to the second flow path as well as maintaining the current flow path.

Report No. 4.1             Discussion Items relating to Coastal Estuary Catchment Panel

Item discussed:  The Drainage Union

Committee Recommendation:

1.         That the Coastal Estuary Catchment Panel note the items listed for discussion.

 

2.         The Committee noted that Belongil Swamp Drainage Union has been reinstated and the Panel members Tony Flick and Tim Hochgrebe are on the board.

3.         It is noted that there is ongoing discussion between the Union and Council staff to assist in progressing the function of the Union.

Note:

 

1.    The word ‘possible’ should be removed from line 23 in the Agenda, due to the fact that reinstatement of the Belongil Swamp Drainage Union has already happened. Noted by: Tim Hochgrebe on 21 September 2017.

2.    Original items 1:The State of Water Re-Use and 2: Recycled Water Pricing to be placed on the next meeting Agenda as not enough time to discuss.
