Cr Westheimer (Chair) opened the meeting at 9:06am and acknowledged that the meeting was being held on Bundjalung Country.

Apologies:

Apologies were received from Jack Dodds and Bronwyn Bancroft.

Other Business:

It was noted Bronwyn Bancroft has tendered her resignation from the Committee.

Staff Reports - Corporate and Community Services

Report No. 3.1 Byron Shire Council Creative Public Spaces Grant 2023 -Successful Applicants

File No: I2023/1090

Committee Recommendation:

1. That the Committee notes successful applicants for the 2023 Creative Public Spaces Grant.

2. The Committee recommends an increase in the budget for the Creative Public Spaces Grant to $20,000 or more with the funding source to be identified. (Ndiaye/Westheimer)

The recommendation was put to the vote and declared carried.

Maya Martin-Westheimer joined the meeting at 10:05am

Staff Reports - Sustainable Environment and Economy

Report No. 3.2 Events Strategy - Findings Paper

File No: I2023/32

Committee Recommendation:

That the Committee notes the presentation from Tilma Consulting on the Events Strategy Findings Paper. (Westheimer/Cohn)

The recommendation was put to the vote and declared carried.

Arika McElroy and Kushla Gale left the meeting at 10:31am and did not return.

Cr Westheimer stepped aside from chairing the meeting to present Report 3.3 with

Cr Ndiaye assuming the chairperson seat contemporaneously at 10:31am.

Report No. 3.3 Preliminary Concept Proposal for Feedback - Arts & Culture Festival

Committee Recommendation:

That the Committee notes the proposal and suggests further discussions with Arts Northern Rivers and key stakeholders. (Cohn/Collyer)

The recommendation was put to the vote and declared carried.

There being no further business the meeting concluded at 11:02am.
